"Daddy-School"


An important component of the social health of the family is the psychological stability of the relationship between all its members. In young families raising infants such psychological stability can be achieved in a more active role of her husband, the father of a child engaged in a process of education from the early days of his life.

Scientifically proven effects of fathers on early child development. These many studies have shown that fathers, used on the hands of the child immediately after birth, and in the future more often play with their children growing up, spend more time together. It was also found that babies who have a close and active father, show higher scores on tests of mental and motor development, and subsequently grow more responsive socially.

An additional important fact was the discovery that in these families, relations between spouses are more harmonious, there is a unity of purpose and plans, low conflict. Fathers who have established strong emotional connection with the baby, are more sensitive to changes in the interests and needs of children as they grow older. Such fathers have more influence on their children, who are eager to listen to them and want to be like them because of the close, trusting relationships. Crises such older children proceed more smoothly and safely for the family and society.

For men as for women, everything connected with his child, is extremely important, and they need the same preparation for fatherhood, as well as for women. The vast majority of men are willing to remove the woman's part of household responsibilities, they are worried about the health of the expectant mother, trying to do more and better, but often do not know how. Therefore there is an urgent need for a boys' school for parents.

Justification of the program.

Currently accumulated enough data research to say that from a biological point of view of men and women are more similar than different. Many researchers even believe that only a clear and significant biological difference between women and men is their role in reproduction.

In addition to biological differences between people there is a division of social roles, forms, activities and behaviors, and emotional characteristics. Anthropologists, historians and anthropologists have long shown that the concept of a "typical male" and "typically female" is quite conventional: that in one society is considered a male activity (behavior, trait), while another may be considered feminine.

Contemporary gender theory does not attempt to dispute the existence of any biological, social, psychological differences between individual men and women. It simply states that the mere difference is less important than their socio-cultural evaluation and interpretation, as well as a system of power based on these differences. The gender approach is based on the idea that it is important not biological or physical differences between men and women, and that the cultural and social value that society places on these differences.

The traditional style of education for boys in the family - is the historical system of views, ideals and parental influence on children in which the father - her head and breadwinner. In today's world, women and men have to overcome stereotypes, adapt traditions of family life and child-rearing to the demands of the time. And if women are better adapted and successfully adopt new roles, for many men changing established canon creates significant difficulties.

Training program for future fathers in "Daddy School" gives each participant the opportunity to obtain information about the practice of caring for a newborn baby, the peculiarities of sexual relations with his wife in the pre-and post-natal period. Information of interest future fathers are in meetings with men who were already fathers.

Men - future fathers - often blamed for what they really are not prepared for a baby into the world. Women often feel frustrated by the fact that being with her man does not read the books and pamphlets, which, she believes, should be read. Why did he not ask often, how she felt during pregnancy?

At its core, "Dad School" - an informal network of men - fathers and future fathers with children found to generate new knowledge, discuss real issues and communication, in the interests of the child and family.

This program is aimed at establishing a new model of his father's behavior - the model of the "new father." Through training in male groups and group work done, we can change gender stereotypes about the role of the father is not only a future pope, but his companion, to reduce domestic violence and family breakdown risks.

The purpose of the program:

Activation of social activities of men, aimed at preserving the family, and promoting responsible fatherhood. Period of implementation of the program: to 15.01. 2012 to 15.12. 2012

Objectives: - promoting responsible fatherhood, family education, young parents and the influence of the mother and father in the upbringing of the child - the involvement of fathers in the public and social activity - gender stereotypes - creation of conditions for the formation of psychological culture of fathers in the family and the culture of healthy lifestyles - Prevention of Domestic Violence.

The expected results of the program: - Reduction of risk factors that lead to the disintegration of families - reducing the cases of anti-social behavior in the family of young fathers - raising social rights and psychological culture of young parents - the strengthening of the interaction between the family, social services, health authorities, community organizations with the purpose to enhance the prestige of the family.

Collaborators, men, awaiting their first child - men with children - single fathers - professionals engaged in work with men on equal responsibility for the mother and father raising a child.
